Post-wear thoughts

Likes

  • This is the sweater where I first said “wow! I can do a neat fold-over collar”.

  • The high amount of positive ease in the body no longer feels excessive. I enjoy the roominess and general cozy factor.

  • I don’t like how my short rows turned out, but this sweater put me on a course to get better at German short rows.

  • The length allows me to wear it untucked or tucked French-style with high waisted pants.

Dislikes

  • I did not have the correct row gauge and although I tried to make some adjustments for the striping, some areas turned out larger (partly from blocking too). Those areas were armhole circumference/yoke depth and sleeve length. I do like the wide wrist opening, but in combination with sleeves that are too long I can’t keep them rolled up when I’m doing chores or doing arts and crafts with my daughter.

  • This yarn feels heavy; therefore, I really feel the weight of this sweater on my shoulders and its general movement. This probably contributes to the sleeves not staying rolled up.

  • The weight of the sweater also shows off my sloppy German short rows.
